The Opec member’s crude production is set to hit about 2 million barrels per day, having increased steadily over the past five decades.

Its production started onshore in the Cabinda enclave before edging into shallow waters in Chevron-operated Block 0 off Cabinda.

In May, production was averaging about 1.73 million bpd, a 4.4% month-on-month rise, according to government data.

Liquid petroleum gas output was about 19,700 bpd, mainly from Chevron’s Sanha complex in Block 0.
