Angola LNG marches into the market for up to seven vessels

Would-be African producer Angola LNG has emerged fully onto the market with its shipping requirements, writes Lucy Hine.

Early in April the project sent out pre-qualification documents to shipowners and invitations to tender to shipyards.

Angola LNG is seeking up to seven LNG carriers of between 150,000 cbm and 210,000 cbm. A mixed fleet of possibly three standard-size ships and three larger vessels is said to be one of the options the project is considering. Delivery dates from 2010 have been specified.
