The GM-ES-4 well was drilled to a total depth of 6292 metrestargeting the Cebus prospect and penetrating the primary and secondary reservoir objectives.
However, provisional interpretation of the drilling and geological data indicated that, while there was extensive development of the targeted sands, no hydrocarbons were hit, according to project partner Tullow Oil.
The well will now be plugged and abandoned, and drillship Stena IceMax will be moved to drill the final well of the four-well programme following the Zaedyus-1 oil discovery.
