BG began a divestment process about halfway through the year of the 540-kilometre gas pipeline network that links its coalbed methane gas fields to its LNG facility on Curtis Island.
APA said it plans to raise A$1.84 billion ($1.52 billion) through a share offering to partly fund the purchase, while the balance would be provided from a bridging facility.
The purchaser, one of several bidders for the assets, already has a network of gas pipelines in the Queensland area.
