US independent Apache will spud a keenly-watched well in Suriname slightly later than expected following delays in the handover of the drillship Noble Sam Croft, Upstream has learned.
The vessel is expected on location on Suriname’s Block 58 at the end of September, several weeks later than originally planned.
Apache’s planned wildcat is being closely watched because the location is less than 80 kilometres from ExxonMobil’s Turbot discovery on the prolific Stabroek block over the maritime border with Guyana.
