The UK unit of US oil company Apache has followed Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell in pledging to axe three-weeks-on, three-weeks-off (3:3) shift rotas on its UK platforms.

A new two-weeks-on, three-weeks-off (2:3) system is to be implemented on the Forties and Beryl facilities in the first quarter next year, the company said.

“The decision is in response to employee feedback, an improved oil price environment and the need to remain competitive in the current market,” it said.
