The privately-owned Calgary-based company filed an application with the province's Energy Resources Conservation Board in late June to further expand its in situ operation in the Athabasca oil sands region.
The third phase would be an expansion to the already-approved Christina Lake steam-assisted gravity drainage project. It includes two additional central processing facilities, SAGD wells and extra infrastructure.
It will be designed to produce up to 150,000 barrels per day.
