The regulator first authorised Petrobras to proceed with an assessment programme for the Brigadeiro post-salt find in Block BM-ES-23 in the Espirito Santo basin.
The new Brigadeiro ring-fence also encompasses the Pe-de-Moleque and Quindim discoveries.
According to the ANP, Petrobras will have until October 2014 to reprocess pre-stack depth migration seismic data, drill a firm well and decide if it will spud a contingent well in order to keep the licence.
