A leading international consortium has emerged as the front runner for a $3 billion-plus Saudi Aramco offshore contract covering a gas-oil separation platform complex for its Marjan incremental development project.
Project watchers said Aramco is close to finalising its preferred contractor for the first of the three offshore packages in the project.
A consortium comprising US giant McDermott International and China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC) is understood to have emerged as the front runner for Package 1, comprising the GOSP facility, multiple industry sources told Upstream.
