Saudi Aramco is expected to award within weeks three crucial offshore contracts covering major development and expansion work on its Safaniyah, Marjan, Zuluf and Berri oilfields, together thought to be worth more than $1.5 billion.

Sources said technical and commercial offers for the three projects were recently submitted by five long term agreement (LTA) contractors and the Saudi state-owned giant is expected to soon finalise the three key offshore contracts.
