Saudi Aramco has again highlighted its intention to keep pushing forward upstream investment by firing the starting gun on another major offshore engineering, procurement and construction tender, this time covering the fifth development phase of its giant Safaniyah oilfield.
The Saudi Arabian player is understood to have invited bids for the new Safaniyah development phase from its select group of long term agreement (LTA) contractors — US-based McDermott and Dynamic Industries, Italy’s Saipem and a partnership of India’s Larsen & Toubro with Singapore’s Emas.
