Saudi Aramco, revealing its finances for the first time, made core earnings of $224 billion last year, making it the world’s most profitable company.

The state-owned player, the world’s largest crude exporter, released its financials on Monday ahead of its debut international bond offering.

Higher oil prices helped boost earnings last year.

Aramco broke with tradition in divulging the figures in order to obtain a public rating and start issuing international bonds.
