ASL declined to name the European customer although a source said that after winning this“pretty competitive”bid the company believes it will secure further projects from the same client. ASL owns and operates shipyards in Singapore; Batam, Indonesia; and Guangdong, China.
ASL to build support vessels
Singapore´s ASL Marine has won a S$51.4 million ($32.5 million) contract to build five vessels to support LNG terminal operations in various Middle East locations. The contract comprises four azimuth stern drive tugs and one offshore maintenance vessel, which are expected to be completed in 2008.
