Releasing its annual provincial budget this week, Minister of Finance Ted Morton forecast an overall increase in resource revenue for the Canadian province to C$7.3 billion, thanks to energy royalties and land sales.
Natural gas revenue is expected to be about C$1.86 billion this year.
“The global economic recovery is expected to increase prices and demand for oil, and natural gas prices are expected to be boosted by an improved North American economy,” Morton told Alberta’s Legislature.
