Results from recent reprocessing of earlier 3D have convinced partners of the added potential lying in the field's vicinity and elsewhere in the block where so-called 'amplitude versus offset' (AVO) methods are being applied.
AVO techniques use pre-stacked data to locate stratigraphic traps that have so far been ignored.
Atlas hopes to apply these methods to acreage it operates in Equatorial Guinea since this was the technique Triton Energy used to discover the prolific Ceiba trend, now operated by Amerada Hess.
