ExxonMobil has completed its two-well deep-water exploration campaign in Bass Strait off south-east Australia, but the results did not live up to expectations, writes Russell Searancke.
The much-anticipated drilling programme using the semi-submersible Ocean Monarch began in late August 2018 in Block Vic/P70 in the Gippsland basin.
The two wells have been completed, and the drilling rig was released, but the wells were not discoveries.
