Norwegian operator Vaar Energi has received a regulatory safety rap outlining a dozen shortcomings at its Balder floating production, storage and offloading vessel in the North Sea, writes Beate Schjolberg.
Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) identified non-conformities in 12 areas related to Vaar's management of major accident risk and barriers during an audit in connection with an application by the operator to extend the life of the 20-year-old floater to 2030.
