Apache had to wrestle with some challenges during the offshore installation phase of the Balnaves project that resulted in delays to first oil, but the field began producing on 12 August, said an Apache spokesperson.
The problem surfaced during the process of riser connection to the turret mooring system on the floating production, storage and offloading vessel Armada Claire.
The Balnaves field is due to produce at a gross rate of nearly 30,000 barrels per day of oil.
