Bangladesh has finally received its first liquefied natural gas imports after regasified volumes entered its onshore grid following several months of delays.
Test volumes left a floating storage and regasification unit and government officials said commercial operations are firmly in sight.
The initial consignment from Excelerate Energy’s FSRU at Moheshkhali Island entered the distribution grid at Chattogram.
The floater, Bangladesh’s maiden LNG import project, can send out up to 500 million cubic feet per day of gas.
