After dragging its feet for two years, the Bangladesh government has decided to invite international oil companies to tender for the blocks on 15 March, without further delay, local industry sources tell Upstream. Details of the tender are being finalised by the national oil company Petrobangla with the help of Denver-based energy consultancy Gustavson Associates. Bidders have 15 days in which to submit their offers to Petrobangla, according to a local source.
Bangladesh opens up Aladdin's cave
GAS-RICH Bangladesh is set to issue exploration licences or service contracts for all onshore and offshore blocks that have not yet been awarded to private oil companies.
