Eni’s revelation that the Evans Shoal gas field off northern Australia is a candidate to backfill the Darwin liquefied natural gas plant’s single train means there are at least two contenders.
The other well-publicised contender is the ConocoPhillips-led Barossa project.
A third candidate would have been the Woodside-led Sunrise project if Timor-Leste had not restated its desire for an LNG plant in Timor.
