Norway has set aside current oil industry woes to land the accolade of the happiest place on Earth.
In the United Nations World Happiness Report, the major oil-producing nation beat Scandinavian neighbour Denmark into second place, with Iceland third, Switzerland fourth and Finland fifth.
The Netherlands came in at six, with oil sands giant Canada at seven and liquefied natural gas producer Australia at nine.
