A total of 29 people were arrested during the main demonstration at Cuadrilla Resources’ Lower Stumble drill site near Balcombe in West Sussex on 19 August in which activists formed a human chain to prevent access to the site.
Most were detained on suspicion of blocking a public highway or breaching public order. Two men were accused of assaulting police officers and a female minor was arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon.
