Australian independent Beach Energy and its two Asian joint venture partners have unveiled a development concept for the Trefoil satellite gas condensate field off south-east Australia.
Trefoil is a shallow-water discovery drilled 15 years ago. The discovery well hit a series of stacked gas reservoirs with net gas pay of 50 metres.
The field would have been developed sooner but lost momentum due to mergers and acquisitions activity that saw the two previous majority owners — Origin Energy unit Lattice Energy and AWE — acquired by Beach and Mitsui, respectively.
