Norwegian authorities have confirmed that fresh seismic was shot last Autumn over areas of the northern part of the Barents Sea that have not yet been made available for offshore exploration, writes Steve Marshall.
The shoot, carried out by Schlumberger-owned vessel WG Columbus, acquired about 4500 kilometres of 2D seismic in the Gardarbank High geological ridge located to the east and north-east of Bear Island, which is a nature reserve and hosts a bird colony, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
