Beaufort Sea 2D planned

Houston-based GX Technology has applied to the  Canadian authorities to use a series of vessels on a huge streamer-based 2D survey in the Beaufort Sea plus a pair of smaller 2D seismic surveys using ocean bottom cable equipment .

The Bos Atlantic and US-flagged GeoTiger 2, GeoTiger 3 and GeoTiger 4 vessels have been proposed to shoot the surveys between June and November.

The Bos Atlantic would be supported by Talagy, a Russian icebreaker, on its journey to and from the Beaufort Sea via the Bering Strait while the  GeoTiger vessels will be supported by inflatables.

Bergen Oilfield Services’ Bos Atlantic has been chartered to gather 18,000 kilometres of 2D data.
