Shell submitted an application to drill a single well in Camden Bay to the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) last week.
“In short our plan is to drill in the Beaufort in 2011,” said Pete Slaiby, who heads Shell’s Alaska division.
If successful, the company will likely follow with an application to drill a second well during the short summer ice-free season, Slaiby said.
