Chinese independent Bestsun Energy has signed an agreement with local authorities in Suizhong county in northern China’s Liaoning province to build a liquefied natural gas import terminal.
According to a statement from the Suizhong government, the terminal will initially have annual import handling capacity of 2.6 million tonnes, which will be later expanded to 5 million tpa.
Bestsun Energy will set up a joint venture with Huludao Steel Pipe Industry in Liaoning to spearhead construction.
