The company's second-quarter profits also fell 31% to£513 million ($842 million) from£747 million year-on-year, seeing its shares drop nearly 1% in early trading on 29 July.
BG Group said it would miss its 2009 production target of 680,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and would only achieve that figure a quarter later than planned in March next year.
However, second-quarter production still rose year-on-year by 7%, and that is expected to increase through the rest of the year, with fourth-quarter output averaging more than 700,000 boepd.
