The Pi North well in Block 15/12 proved gas and oil in Jurassic and Triassic rocks, and tested at a rate of about 4700 barrels per day from the oil zone.
The well was drilled to a depth of 3169 metres in 86 metres of water using the jack-up rig Maersk Guardian.
After the well is plugged, the rig will drill the Ipswich prospect in production licence 274 for Danish operator Dong Energy.
