Companies who submitted pre-qualification documents to Pars Oil&Gas Company (POGC) include Australia's BHP Billiton and the local Petroiran Development Company (Pedco).
POGC managing director Akbar Torkan said that there was also interest from Shell, Agip, Statoil and Petrobras. Total also expressed interest, but only if there was a liquefied natural gas content, "which the project doesn't have", Torkan said.
The project for four phases would represent an investment of about $5 billion, according to Torkan, and would produce 4 billion cubic feet per day of gas and 160,000 barrels per day of condensate.
