BHP eyes July for second Trion appraisal well

Regulators in Mexico have approved plans by Australian operator BHP to drill its second appraisal well at the Trion field in the deep waters of the Perdido fold-belt area, writes Kathrine Schmidt.

Drilling of the Trion-3DEL well is set to start on 7 July and run through 25 July, with completion planned from 26 July to 10 August, according to a presentation made before Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH), which issued approval for the probe.
