Congo-Brazzaville moved unexpectedly last week to give more time for suitors to express interest in open acreage, with the Ministry of Hydrocarbons opting to extend phase II of its current licensing round by a month to 23 July.
In collaboration with international seismic contractor PGS, the state-owned oil company SNPC is offering datasets on all open blocks, including the wider Congo MegaSurveyPlus survey, designed to reduce technical risk.
