Kenyan authorities are aiming this weekend to break the gridlock in a dispute between local communities and operator Tullow Oil that stopped the trucking of crude from the Lokichar basin’s Turkana fields last month, writes Barry Morgan.
Tullow managing director Martin Mbogo warned that “essential supplies needed to run the Kapese Integrated Operation Base in Turkana will run out over the next 14 days, after which we will have no option other than a complete shutdown of the camp”.
