Scotland-based offshore contractor Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab) has warned the Scottish Government of potential redundancies as its main current contract draws to a close, writes Rob Watts.

Management at BiFab, which narrowly avoided entering administration late last year, said the steps have been taken as work on the company’s remaining contract, the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm project, winds down.

BiFab said it has not given up hope of winning new contracts in the oil and gas and renewables sectors and that it continues to work with the Scottish Government and trade unions to do “everything possible to avoid redundancies within the business”.
