German operator Wintershall Dea has confirmed that reserves at its Maria field off Norway have been cut by as much as three quarters.
The German operator said in a well application to the Environment Agency that remaining recoverable reserves at the Norwegian Sea field are now estimated at only around 50 million barrels of oil equivalent, compared with a previous estimate of 207 million boe.
