Switzerland called the Cameroon ambassador to the Foreign Ministry in Bern last week to explain the behaviour of bodyguards attached to Cameroon’s octogenarian President Paul Biya (pictured) after they attacked a Swiss public TV journalist filming outside the Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva.
Famously neutral Switzerland had agreed to host a mediation over the deepening political crisis in Cameroon, where Anglophone separatists from the Northwest and oil-rich Southwest regions are fighting to secede from the Francophone majority regime and establish a sovereign state of Ambazonia.
