Privately held BlackBrush Oil & Gas has applied to state regulators to explore the Austin Chalk formation in Louisiana, where a handful of operators plan to drill exploration wells this year, writes Caroline Evans.
The San Antonio-based company has called on the state's Office of Conservation to consider its application to set up a single drilling and production unit consisting of 1440 acres in the North Cheyneyville field in Rapides Parish.
