Gas output from Neptune Energy’s Cygnus field in the UK southern sector has suffered disruptions in recent months because of its vulnerability to outages at other fields providing “blend gas” it has to be mixed with to enter the UK’s national transmission system (NTS), writes Rob Watts.
Neptune is now working with other operators and the authorities to increase the volume and diversity of blend gas to reduce the short-term impact on production, a conference heard last week.
