According to the operator, the initial well will be a lengthy step-out to the west of the discovery probe.
Only two wells have been drilled on the structure to date the discovery probe in Mississippi Canyon Block 696 drilled in 2001 and a 2004 appraisal, both on the east side of the field.
A delineation well on the field, initially planned for late 2005, was never drilled.
