Bolivian state-owned company YPFB is confident the recent Boyuy-X2 natural gas discovery will pave the way for the development of new onshore fields in the country.
Earlier this year, Spain’s Repsol unlocked gas resources in sandstones with the drilling of Boyuy-X2 at deeper targets in the Huamampampa formation.
The well cost about $112 million and reached a record depth of 7963 metres.
