BP has asked for expressions of interest from marine seismic 
survey specialists for a 3D multi-azimuth survey of up to 17,000 square kilometres in Sirte next year.

The company may require a conventional survey of another 13,000 square kilometres, a spokesman told Upstream.

The offshore areas are part of a 54,000 square kilometre concession that includes the onshore Ghadames basin in Libya, and where BP signed a $2 billion exploration agreement two years ago in the expectation that it would find enough natural gas resources to justify construction of liquefaction facilities.
