The operator has decided to start testing this week before a return to normal operations, a BP Azerbaijan spokeswoman said.
A successful restart of the pipeline would be a big boost for BP in Azerbaijan, where it has been struggling to cope with interruptions to other export routes because of the recent conflict involving Russian and Georgian forces in Georgia.
The latest obstacle emerged earlier this week when a key railway bridge was blown up, hitting rail export shipments of oil by BP and its partners in the Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli oilfields.
