BP plans to spud first probe at Absheron peninsula in July

UK supermajor BP plans to spud the first probe within its Shallow-Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP) exploration project in Azerbaijan's portion of the Caspian Sea in July using the Kazakh-owned jack-up Satti, according to Socar, writes Kama Mustafayeva.

The rig will be delivered to Baku for an upgrade before sailing for a SWAP well location, according to an agreement signed between Azerbaijan's state player Socar and Kazakh counterpart KazMunaiGaz, which owns the rig.
