Armed with new seismic data, the UK supermajor estimates that Helms Deep contains between 2.5 million and 3.5 million barrels of oil. As a subsea producer, Helms Deep could flow over 3800 bpd.
With a turnkey rig bid already in hand, BP believes it would cost $23 million to drill, complete and tie back a single new well to a fixed production platform standing just 11,000 feet away.
