The company reported a 2015 loss of $5.2 billion on a replacement cost basis, versus a profit of just over $8 billion in 2014.

BP’s fourth-quarter loss on the same basis was $2.2 billion, up from a loss of just under $1 billion in the same period of 2014.

BP was hit by a $2.6 billion charge in the fourth quarter, with upstream impairments the majority of that total, according to the company.
