BP has is drilling ahead on the high-impact Achmelvich exploration well in the UK West of Shetland area, writes Rob Watts.
Public drilling data this week showed that the 206/09b-5 well was spudded on 23 September.
BP has declined to comment in recent weeks on its 2017 UK drilling programme, which includes Achmelvich and a well on the Palaeocene Capercaillie prospect in the central North Sea.
