BP plans to start pumping Shah Deniz gas into an expanded South Caucasus pipeline (SCPX) by the end of the year, in anticipation of starting exports in mid-2018.
Speaking at his last press conference in Baku, Azerbaijan as regional president of the UK supermajor last week, Gordon Birrell said the giant project to supply gas to Turkey and Europe, on which $15 billion has so far been spent, is being brought in on schedule and on budget.
