Chesapeake Energy pumped its largest-ever completion in a well in the Haynesville shale in the US and is now planning a test to pump even more sand to improve results in the shale gas play, building on a growing trend within industry.
Chesapeake pumped 30 million pounds of sand — 3000 pounds per foot of lateral length — during the completion of the 10,000-foot lateral in its CA-1H well in Caddo Parish, Louisiana.
