The US Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) has issued a safety alert on dangerous falls after two separate offshore incidents in which one person fell to their death and a second worker has been missing for almost a week, with authorities calling off searches.
The first incident took place at Renaissance Offshore's Eugene Island Block 331 B platform about 170 miles (272 kilometres) south-west of New Orleans, with a 54-year old male worker reported missing in the early morning hours of 29 May next to a section of displaced grating.
